Project Description: The client came to us with a need for a more spacious, modernized building for dining and social gathering. The tight budget dictated a simple solution where each design decision would deliver multiple benefits. The rectangular massing is supported by a repetitive mass timber structure that brings warmth to the space. Floor to ceiling glass between these bays connect users to the adjacent forest and randomly arrayed skylights over the hallway spine bring dappled forest light deep into the space resulting in an immersive sylvan experience that is surprisingly indoors.
